Mercy Health in St. Louis recently completed a transformative renovation of its former Virtual Care Facility, reimagining the space as the new Mercy Kids Therapy and Autism Center. The environment was thoughtfully redesigned to create an engaging and supportive setting for children and their families. The project called for a complete shift in tone, prioritizing comfort, creativity, and approachability within the existing facility. ASI, in close collaboration with Mercy’s Marketing and Planning, Design & Construction teams, helped to re-envision the facility as a vibrant and welcoming destination. The goal was to add signage elements that not only support therapeutic care but also help ease anxiety, encourage interaction, and create a more uplifting experience for every child and family entering the center.
About the Solution
ASI implemented a comprehensive signage and environmental graphics program that brings the space to life while reinforcing intuitive navigation and a cohesive visual experience. Each element was thoughtfully designed to balance functionality with a sense of play, incorporating color, scale, and imagery. From identification signage to immersive wall graphics, the system works together to guide visitors seamlessly while enhancing the overall atmosphere. ASI carefully selected signage materials and finishes to align with the updated design intent, ensuring a clean, polished aesthetic. The completed environment reflects Mercy’s commitment to delivering compassionate, child-centered care and aligns seamlessly with the broader Mercy Kids vision.
