Cincinnati Public Radio’s new office is an architecturally distinctive facility defined by exposed laminated wood beams and a warm, contemporary interior. Designed to support both broadcast operations and collaborative work, the space reflects the organization’s role as a trusted voice in the community. The move coincided with a refreshed brand identity, creating an opportunity to thoughtfully integrate signage into the environment.
ASI partnered with the project team to develop a cohesive signage program, including exterior identification, interior wayfinding, and a signature environmental feature. Each element was carefully considered to align with the building’s materiality and spatial flow while supporting clear, intuitive navigation and reinforcing Cincinnati Public Radio’s evolving brand identity.
About the Solution
ASI executed a comprehensive signage program including illuminated exterior signage, a structurally reinforced monument sign, layered interior door signage, and a large-scale radio wave installation in the main reception area. The feature wall consists of approximately 80 vertical RGB LED elements programmed to visually represent the soundwave of a spoken phrase.
The installation required detailed planning due to tight tolerances, structural constraints, and adjacent mechanical systems. The finished space transforms sound into a dynamic visual experience, reinforcing Cincinnati Public Radio’s identity through innovation, craftsmanship, and technical precision.
