Guiding a World-Class Guest Experience

The Gaylord Pacific Hotel & Convention Center is a landmark hospitality and convention destination overlooking the San Diego Bay in Chula Vista, California. Developed as a large-scale resort campus with a hotel, meeting facilities, dining, retail, outdoor amenities, and structured parking, the project required a signage system capable of supporting both everyday guest circulation and high-volume event traffic.

ASI was engaged early in the project lifecycle to deliver a comprehensive signage and wayfinding program spanning the entire campus. The goal was to create a clear, intuitive guest experience while maintaining a refined visual language that complemented the property’s interior design and architectural scale. From front-of-house guest areas to back-of-house operations, every sign family was designed to remain legible, cohesive, and durable in a complex resort environment.

About the Solution

ASI led a multi-year Design-Build effort encompassing nearly 8,000 signs and more than 100 unique sign types across the hotel, convention facilities, retail environments, parking structures, pool areas, exterior campus, and a robust digital signage network. Early coordination ensured that life safety and code compliance were fully integrated into the signage design.

The digital signage features event signage integrated with the hotel booking system, interactive touchscreen directories, and large-scale video displays. ASI also developed interpretive signage along public waterfront walkways, creating educational and visually engaging content. The result is a seamless, guest-focused signage system that supports navigation, enhances the resort experience, and reflects the scope and sophistication of this destination property.
