A church always seeks to be as welcoming as possible and signage is an important factor in creating a familiar environment. As a result of an internal audit by Northminster Presbyterian Church, it was determined that a full signage update was needed to facilitate members and visitors in navigating the facility with ease.
For Northminster Presbyterian Church, clear identification of building entrances, classrooms and community spaces was vital to creating the sense of a home away from home. Effective exterior signage was also key to the update, as the location of the parking lot and side entrance were not clearly identified.
ASI was tasked with creating a wayfinding and graphics package that would give the facility an overall face-lift and address how visitors and potential members navigated the space.
About the Solution
ASI worked closely with the Client to determine which destinations within the facility needed to be identified. One specific request was changeable signs with windows for the Children’s Area to list teacher’s names and class times. ASI placed dimensional lettering at each key location and ensured that directional signs would effectively guide visitors from point A to point B.
On the exterior, ASI added a post and panel sign with reflective vinyl and dimensional letters above the doors to call attention to the entrances. Reflective vinyl, which is highlighted in car headlights, aids in finding a destination at night or adverse weather conditions.
Now, Northminster Presbyterian Church has a signage package that welcomes new visitors and members alike to their home away from home.
