Kent State University, located in Kent, Ohio, unveiled Crawford Hall, the new home of the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship, in September 2024. The four-story, 150,000-square-foot facility serves as both a campus gateway and a high-tech hub for developing future business leaders. With a focus on collaboration and innovation, the building was designed to prepare students for careers across industries by embracing new technologies and flexible learning environments.
To recognize lifetime donors to the college, as well as those who made this state-of-the-art facility possible, Kent State University launched a project to create clean, professional, and visually compelling donor recognition signage. ASI collaborated with the general contractor and worked closely with the university to ensure seamless execution. ASI brought its fabrication expertise to the table, helping improve the concepts for real-world application while preserving the design intent.
About the Solution
ASI crafted this donor recognition program to feature custom bent and etched stainless steel, solid cutout dimensional letters, illuminated components, and acrylic plaques. Notably, the background of both donor walls was crafted using stained reclaimed wood harvested from hardwood trees cleared during site preparation—blending sustainability with design. ASI’s team provided on-site support to resolve mounting challenges and ensure precise installation.
The result is a cohesive and elegant signage system that celebrates donor generosity while enhancing the sophisticated atmosphere of Kent State’s newest academic building.
